北宋，从太和岭口陨落
代州太和岭口这个地名，除代州人熟悉得没灵性要追溯它为何叫太和岭外，史学家和方志学家从没意识到，或干脆不愿意去深入解读它在北宋这个历史阶段曾经有过一个怎样重要的历史定格、或座标；更不愿意或根本不想明白地把这个座标画出来，并把这个历史定格点的文化意蕴、历史价值彰显出来。所以，历代《代州志》的编撰者只蘸着悲情和无奈记了一笔：“靖康二年，钦宗被掳逾太和到五国城”。《宋史钦宗纪》则更为悲愤地记作《北巡猎狩纪》。
