Innovation as senior form for practice of mankind shows more and more leading role not only in promoting the development of productivity, reform of society, progress of civilization as well as human being's free development but also is the key to eradicate the increasingly fierce contradiction between contemporary resources, energy, environment and the development of human society. However, from the ethical perspective of analysis, innovation has dualities: both benefiting mankind and probably causing harm to human beings. It is difficult to predict the negative effect of creativity accurately but necessary. Thus, from the ethical stance to explore the appropriate scale of creativity, studying the cultural atmosphere helping innovation appropriateness and system arrangement, seeking for the effective way to foster the character of innovation body, holding back or reducing the inappropriate creativity, these turn into a realistic and inescapable task lying before us.
Innovation as human being's main society practice activity, at the same time also being human being's unique cognitive ability and practice ability, is senior form of expression of human being's subjective initiative. As a part of the nature, mankind and other natural things equally face an objective world, which is independent of man's will and restricts man's freedom. However, fighting for freedom is man's special property, from necessity to achievement of freedom, can not lack the innovation leverage. Therefore, the socalled creativity, is characterized with filling the gap for man's cognitive field; is aimed at realizing man's transformation from necessity to freedom; is the man's practical activity in the external form of new thinking, new invention as well as new description.
The socalled theory of innovation appropriateness refers to innovation being reasonable and moderate, this innovation is guided by the right-designed purpose. It is restricted by objective principle and reasonable yardstick of moral principle. Thereby it truly can bring benefit to human beings and promote the harmony among man, society and nature. While the innovation inappropriateness refers to the innovation which deviates from right purpose and goes against objective principle and moral principle. The innovation appropriateness should be aimed at benefiting the country and people forever. Also being favorable to the maintenance of natural ecology, human reproduction healthily, civilization advance of life style and scientific change of values serves as its reasonable measure.
As the antithesis of innovation appropriateness, innovation inappropriateness in reality intensively manifests negative factors that should be prohibited in the process of creativity. The ban requirement of these negative factors mainly includes: Seven Don't. That is, do not cast off inheritance, do not be destructive to the civilization, do not harm ecology, do not be detrimental to organism, not be eager for quick success and instant benefit, not destroy balance, and not plunder. The negative factors that should be prohibited in the process of innovation, whether unintentionally or on purpose, become the inappropriate innovation that is not allowed by the innovation appropriateness. All these result from deviating from right direction and purpose, going against objective principle and moral principle, resulting in its innovation value tendency running counter to innovation value that society needs.
The innovation appropriateness as the natural goal that innovation searches for nowadays, its achievement needs both giving full play of these external culture and system factors' function, for the sake of encouraging and advocating innovation appropriateness, and also needs cultivating the character for innovation main part who can be good at creating properly. In culture, we should transform traditional nature value and main part interest value into the whole ecology value and group interest value; traditional development concept into sustainable development concept; be afraid of seeking the limelight into daring to stand out; following the beat-en path and being afraid of failure into encouraging to create appropriately and tolerant the failure; hierarchy distinct and humanistic disrespect into competing equally and open cooperation. In system, we should set about establishing to inhibit the inappropriate innovation and encourage the market system for appropriate innovation, law system together with the corresponding scientific research and talent system. In character fostering of innovation main part, we should try to make gradually innovation main part's character that is unselfish and fearless, with perseverance and love, sincere and whole-hearted. This character is the indispensable inner factor ensuring innovation appropriateness.
