沈休文四声韵中，如朋与蒸，靴与戈，车与麻，打与等，卦划与怪坏之类，挺斋升庵，俱驳为舌。而宋词中至张仲宗呼否为府，以叶主舞。林外呼琐为扫，以叶老。俞克成呼我为袄以叶好。词品皆指为闽音，其说甚当。而毛驰黄谓沈韵本属同文，非江淮间偏音，挺斋诋之，谬已。盖自三百篇楚词，以迄南曲，一系相承，俱属为韵统，而北曲偏音，四声不备为别统。故金元人作诗，亦用沈韵。作词亦不专用周韵，从无以入声分叶平上去者。又安得以曲韵废词韵，且上格诗韵乎。
